Ten Songs for Children. no 1

Sc`ratch,  Scraiyth,  Rache
Watch newt tails
Canute – wide tide, man
Waiting for a wash away
A slitsand lugfluke
Pulling heels through
Walls built to be wracked
And ratcheted
Tightly to the sea
Heads flipper themselves
Dash the waterline
Look
The rings fall through
Floorboards. Catch it,
Rubbings say so
Suddenly we are
(Then)
Suddenly we are old
